Dr. Y. K. Arora is a distinguished Interventional Cardiologist with over four decades of experience in cardiology and internal medicine. He completed his MBBS from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Ajmer (Rajasthan) in 1978 and his MD (Medicine) in 1981. He further pursued DM in Cardiology from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, in 1993.
Dr. Arora has been serving as a Senior Interventional Cardiologist at National Heart Institute, New Delhi, for the past 12 years. Prior to joining the institute, he had an illustrious 32-year career in the Armed Forces, retiring with the rank of Brigadier in 2013. During his military service, he headed the Department of Cardiology at the Army Hospital (Research & Referral), New Delhi, one of India's premier military medical institutions. He was also a member of the specialist medical panel responsible for providing healthcare support to the then President of India, Her Excellency Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil.
Following his retirement from the Armed Forces, Dr. Arora served as Medical Director and Senior Consultant in Cardiology at Batra Hospital & Medical Research Centre, New Delhi, from 2013 to 2014 before joining National Heart Institute.
In addition to his extensive clinical expertise, Dr. Arora is a recognized postgraduate teacher (Professor) in Cardiology and has played a significant role in mentoring and training future cardiologists.
