Shridhar Dwivedi , MD, PhD , FRCP (London ), FAMS, FIACS ( Canada) Senior Consultant Cardiologist , National Heart Institute was founder Dean / Principal and Prof. of Medicine & Preventive Cardiology of the Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (HIMSR) , Jamia Hamdard and former Head of the Department of Medicine /Preventive Cardiology , UCMS- GTB Hospital. He is credited to have established first formal Preventive Cardiology Clinic at GTB Hospital and at HIMSR, Jamia Hamdard. His principal area of interest is identifying people who are prone to get heart disease like hypertension and heart attack occurring in young and poor people, tobacco cessation and alternative approaches to contain heart disease including medicinal plants and yoga. He is an avid researchers and cardiac health activist.
Has published more than 200 research papers and abstracts in reputed national and international journals . Has obtained several awards and orations including Distinguished Alumnus Award of BHU Doctors Award of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi , Dr Radhakrishnan Teacher’s Award, Major General Diwan Chand Oration of National Academy of Medical Sciences ,India , Dr. Mehta Oration of API, Dr RC Chakarvarty Oration Award of Indian Society of Atherosclerosis Research , President oration Award of Indian Society of Hypertension etc. He is rated to be and excellent teacher and clinician. Dr. Dwivedi is the Chairman of the Governing Body of recently established DIPSR Pharmaceutical University , Government of Delhi and memberof the Institute Body of the PGI Chandigarh. Besides these he is member of the Delhi Medical Council and Board of the Management of Hamdard University. He also takes keen interest in school health education spreading the message of healthy life style. He will be conducting the Executive Health Check UP and specialty Cardiology OPD at NHI to meet the mission and vision of NHI.
